PearlsOnly Commitment to Japanese Akoya Pearl Line

Houston, Texas – October 31, 2005, PearlsOnly.com announces Japanese Akoya Pearl as its choice for Akoya Pearls. With Akoya pearls grown both in Japan and China, PearlsOnly has made a commitment to embraces the Japanese Akoya Pearls for its Akoya pearl selection.

Paul Lepa, CEO and founder, of PearlsOnly says "The choice was very clear. The quality of pearls originating and purchased from Japan is clearly superior to that of the Chinese Akoya. Our customers, when purchasing Akoya pearls expect top quality, and the only way to offer top quality pearls is to offer Japanese Akoya pearls."

Both China and Japan produce Akoya pearls, with China being a relative new comer to Akoya field. The Akoya pearl is a type of pearl, and the location of where it is grown and where the pearl is processed and cultivated makes a big impact on the quality of pearls. Japan has much colder waters compared to China, which results in a much slower growth cycle. The slower growth cycle result in the laying of the nacre to occur more evenly, which results in better shine, nacre quality and luster.

"The choice of Japanese Akoya Pearls for PearlsOnly has been an easy one. It takes just one look to see the differences between Japanese and Chinese Akoya - the luster, the shine and laying of nacre" say Paul Lepa.

PearlsOnly commitment to Japanese Akoya Pearls has not gone unnoticed within the internet pearl retail sector. Many of the B-tier retailers that have been selling lower quality and lower priced Chinese Akoya pearls are concerned. For years, the B-tier internet retailers had hidden the fact that their Akoya pearls were Chinese Akoya pearls - leading people that believe that they were purchasing premium pearls - while in fact a Chinese Akoya they were receiving a much less valuable pearl than a Japanese Akoya pearl.

Mr. Lepa says. "The difference between Chinese Akoya and Japanese Akoya is tremendous - and our customers have clearly indicated that they prefer quality pearls."

PearlsOnly choice of Japanese Akoya Pearls underlines the company’s commitment to its customers and to the customer’s satisfaction and to offering the best value on the internet for the consumer.
